I don't think Tati would ruin James' life like that. The whole thing might be a misunderstanding and Tati really thought James was bothering the waiter so she assumed he had predatory behaviors and Jeffree thought Tati orchestrated the whole ordeal and intentionally ruining James' career when in truth it might not have been that way.
