I like reaching out to help broken people too, but I spent 13 years in college and graduate schools to obtain a doctorate in Professional Psychology. After 30 years of practice, people like Shane frighten me. Many of the “problematic” people I’ve observed, watching Shane’s video series, need mental health counseling by trained professionals, not from good meaning people, who lack appropriate training. I sincerely hope Shane will stop trying to help broken people. The best thing he could do is get help for himself, and make referrals to professional practitioners for his friends.

I’m watching the clips of Shane’s videos and he is still not saying his jokes were wrong. Like oh I was just making jokes. It sounded like a lot of excuses to me. And when he said “I would never seriously make jokes about a child” (or something of that nature), it’s like NO you shouldn’t make jokes about a child EVER in that manner. And the jokes aren’t even jokes. They are more like inappropriate statements and he laughs at the end. No one is laughing with him. It’s honestly sickening.

The thing is that, everybody at some point of our lives have said or done something that we now regret it. Especially about things we did when we were younger. So everyone who worked with Shane and helped him make those videos should be forgiven in their eyes, but NOT Shane? He FORCED them to make them? Also, if they were thought to be way over what was considered to be acceptable back then, then no one would have kept watching them. Obviously they were in really bad taste and never should have been made, but they weren’t just made by Shane alone and he had to have an audience that helped keep them popular. I wonder if there’s a way to call out the ppl who liked and/or posted/responded positively to his content back then. I’d hazard a guess that there’d be a LOT of nervous people right about now.
