I think he was already in film editing college, so I assume he would have mentioned any training. So, she gave him a trial run. Unfortunately, the trial run ended within 24 hours. I don’t want to insult him too much by critiquing his work, but of course the trial run was terminated early. Most places would fire him twice if they could. Colleen took all responsibility for the Tweet, but I don’t see why the guy thought he deserved an internship after that. Disappointing, yes, but it showed exactly what a trial run is intended to show. He was simply not ready. Now he says Colleen owes him an internship. But that’s kinda the understanding of a trial run... if you fail the trial run, you don’t go forward.

He was seventeen and said he had work experience in social media. That usually implies that someone has the skills and maturity to complete a task. How old were you when you started to work? It’s different for everyone, but I think many people start around 16. I held my first job when I was 14.

Also, I forgot to add, letting him be a social media intern was probably illegal. Seeing as he was thirteen, and you typically have to be fourteen or fifteen to get a job, unless they're related. Which they are not.

@Mary Unrelated to this situation but going off what you said. Someone becoming a mother does not make them morally virtuous. There are plenty of moms who are also SA perpetrators - they are not as spoken about in media as men, nor are they given as harsh of sentencing

Is creative exploitation the same as se*ual exploitation? It gets confusing because Adam presented himself as a SA victim whose physical safety was compromised by a new mother who was consumed with her own family and caring for their wellbeing. I guess creative exploitation sounds more sensible since his own mother pushed for their interactions, and I couldn’t imagine a mother doing that if it were the latter.

Well colleen was the one to approve and disapprove the jokes, and adam was underaged at the time i think so hes not even an adult yet, colleens the adult and adam was just trying tk get approval was colleen which at the time was his favorite FRfreer

His “mom” asked her not to. She tried to keep quiet as long as she could, but obviously staying silent just made things worse. So, she showed the screenshots of what was relevant.

Well, she was actually 27. I don’t think it makes that much of a difference, but it is a way to see if someone gathered all the facts.

She definitely should have done a background check. Then again, it was just a trial-run. The background check probably would have happened after. But if she did a background check, she would have learned that he didn’t have work experience in social media like he claimed.

@stephanie woo - No, she didn’t. He received no blame at all from her. And she already tried to approve his concepts, but the ideas he pitched were not what he intended to post. So, this internship just wasn’t for him.
